So, just judging by the white-painted nails, this must have been a white-picket-fence post at some point? (Gotta tell ya though… I think the Engelmann’s Ivy looks better than fence boards would. NICE pic; )
This was an old farm fence, like you might see around a horse pasture, Deb, and it would have been painted white. I had never heard this vine called Engleman’s Ivy. I looked it up and it is indeed a ‘less aggressive” variety of Virginia Creeper. Thanks, Deb!
LOL! Nice guesses, but it’ll probably be more like a platter – I use plants to impress in my clay. Got sidetracked last night, but I’ll let you know how it turns out; )
Thanks!: )
After looking at them so closley, plants have become a huge part of my life and, while looking up their Botanical names, why I’ve been learning so much about their many uses… (other than just being pretty; )
So how about that? Go on; say something! Cancel reply

A horse fence, of course!!
Well, apparently they’re the same thing (both Ivy and Creeper; ) and yet another reason for using Botanical Names, hey? Engelmann’s Ivy is the British name for it… http://pfaf.org/user/Plant.aspx?LatinName=Parthenocissus+quinquefolia
You know what? I’m going to go outside and make something with our little creeper (before the frost knocks it off; )
Basket or wreath?

You never said you were a potter! Very nice!
Thanks!: )
