I waited a long time and had begun to think that the birds were just not going to visit my bird feeder this year. Then one day last week Bob and I went out to get into the truck. I heard hundreds of birds and looking up into the giant oak tree over our driveway, I saw some of them there…
“Oh look Bob!” I said with excitement, “They’ve come back!
To which he replied: “@#%$&^# BIRDS!”
Not understanding his response I put down the camera and…
Then I saw what had raised his ire!

Oh boy, what a mess! On the bright side of things, I suppose this means Spring isn’t too far off 🙂
I will forward that on to my husband!!! LOL! Hurry up Spring! ~ L
My wife feels the same way when she looks her garden under our feeders. What are the birds?
Tom, I know for sure that the big one in the middle is an American Robin, the rest, I believe, are Tufted Titmice. There was another one even smaller, but I didn’t get them clearly in the picture at all. ~ L
Thank you for this. Tufted titmice sound interesting.
You’re welcome! The little birds are very entertaining. Their pictures, IMHO, don’t do them justice. ~ L
Tom, I didn’t realize that the link was broken to the photo of the birds. Sorry, I fixed it. It is still not real clear, but you get a better idea about their coloration. ~ L
How hilarious!! I love this post… typical day on the Farmlet, eh? We have had many winter birds this year, and I have photographed many of them. I just haven’t had time to write a post since I’m galavanting around after Daisy much of the time. We keep a feeder stocked with seed and I participate in the Oklahoma Winter Bird Survey each year. I love springtime when they are busy building nests and raising their young… then come the hatchlings and fledglings! So entertaining!
Well, I had been missing them quite a bit! I had a bird feeder by our dining room window and I loved to watch them eating. Then the cost of bird seed went up dramatically. From $14 per bag to $26 per bag!!! I stopped feeding them. But this winter I couldn’t take it anymore so I bought the bag and paid the exorbitant price! Then they didn’t come for over a month and a half. Now all of a sudden last week PooF! They were back! Love those birdies! ~ L
This is wonderful!
It’s funny, but I was thinking you would like this one. 😉

Oh dear. Lovely to have the birds but I guess there needs to be somewhere different to park the car!
Oh if only there were, but we live on a one lane, dead end, country road. However, I think it may be seasonal. But really, the truck needs a washing and this will be a no fail, good excuse to get him to do it! Can’t be seen going into town with the truck looking like that now can we? 😉
~ L
Oh dear, indeed! But I can’t help giggling – sorry, Bob. 🙂
Clicking on the bird picture is well worth it. Lovely light in that tree.
Yes, It was a lovely day and ended well too. Hence, my camera in hand as we headed into town. Around here you never know what you may see! ~ L
That’s the downside of birds, for sure.

This is one of my favourite posts on one of my favourite blogs!
Well the Chinese think that having a bird poop on you is really good luck, so just tell Bob that he has a very lucky car right now 🙂
Hey, I like that… I’ll tell him and see how he responds! LOL! ~ L
