Right near the City of Huntsville in a covenanted estate community only fifteen minutes from downtown, sits my lovely home on eighteen acres. It affords a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains, my rolling fenced pastures, and TWO ponds for Polly and the gang.
Our new and elegant home features five bedrooms, including a downstairs master suite and a second master suite upstairs, and six baths!
Now for those lovely days when my chores are done there are two covered porches, a raised terrace, and flagstone patio for relaxing on too! Our walkout basement features a wonderful recreation room and game room, and hey, if that isn’t enough, there are an adjacent 300 acres available…
Well, heck, why not?

And all this for a mere $1,925,000.00

APRIL FOOLS!
~*~
All of the above shamelessly borrowed from Zillow: HERE
you got me!!!!! may i pick my jaw up from the floor now?!!!!
Oh, Lisa, I’m sorry, and yes please pick it up, because we can’t have you tripping now can we? 😉
We are still searching for just the right place and actually will be going to see something wonderful tomorrow…
Stay tuned!
great! i hope that it goes well! z
Time will tell…
You got me!
Oopsie! 😉
Truly though, it doesn’t really suit you anyway, does it? (Just too stiff and starchy; ) Happy April Fool’s!
No, Deb, it doesn’t really. We have our eyes on a couple of possibilities at the moment. One is more affordable but needs TONS of elbow grease, and the other is totally my kinda Farmlet (!!!) but may be impractical.
We’ll see…
And the monthly payment is only $ 6900… what a bargain. 😉
Yes, Anke, isn’t it? 😉
I knew you were joking! Because who in their right minds would buy a house that big unless they LOVED housework! Not You or me! c
Truly, Celi! And, I do hate housework! 😀
Hahahaha! I look at homes in Hawaii also….that I could never, never afford.
And dream. Even little homes in Hawaii are so expensive.
If it was legal to live in a tent on the beach…..maybe then. Sigh.
Hahaha! Mary, there were a few properties we looked at that were simply heaven… but then we got to look inside the house and just had to walk away, because the only way to fix them was to light a match and start anew!!! 😛
I was wondering when you would have time for farming, even on a small scale, with all the dusting you would have to do. Good fooling.
Glad you enjoyed it, Tom! 😉
And I was just about to congratulate you!
Well, Emily, you may still get the chance! Just not this house, and not today. 🙂
That was a GREAT joke – I’m so glad you did that! I especially loved the price tag at the end. That’s about when I figured out something was wrong with your post!!!
Nancy
Ha! I had fun with this one, and I’m glad you enjoyed it, Nancy. 🙂
You got me! I was happily reading along when I got to the price and thought – WHAT!?! I was so focused on other things I completely missed April Fool’s day.
I’m glad to hear you have some other options out there lurking around. I’ve been hoping all was going well – and that spring is making you happy. I just saw the biggest stand of wisteria I’ve ever seen – it was so gorgeous, and made me realize I’d better get out and start looking around or I’ll miss it!
Thank you, Linda, it is about time that I get out and quit moping isn’t it? Did you take pictures of the Wisteria?
I took one look and KNEW either you were pulling our legs, or you had won the lottery!! I’m still keeping my fingers crossed that just the right little jewel in the mountains awaits you and Bob. And I’m really hoping you find about 10 acres (or a few more) to be available for all of the extra critters you want to raise.
LOL, Lori! No lottery… I just enjoy watching you all walk lopsided. 😉
Lynda you are one fool for a good joke. I just knew you had not bought that place because you had already written of a house to buy in a previous post.
Well, actually, the house we had wanted fell through due to the devaluation of real estate here (and everywhere else apparently). So we are still looking. 😉
Oh, well. Maybe that place was destined not to be yours anyhow. You’ll eventually find a nice area.
Apparently not… 😉
I had a feeling you were up to something! I saw an article regarding a house in our area, for a wee bit more than that one, on a local river. It was to be up for auction, but someone who looked at it prior to it made an offer that was accepted by the buyer. I told hubby how sweet it was of him to buy it for me. It had the pool and the pool house, etc. Then we rolled on the floor laughing.
That’s funny, Patti, I was having a somewhat similar conversation with Bob about how I wanted this one. We had a good laugh and then began looking in earnest for something A LOT more in our price range. 😉
🙂
😉
Ha ha ha ha ha – glad to hear you are still looking 😉
Yes, Annie! We know what we want and we’re hot on the trail! 😀
