Everybody needs a makeover now and again. So I will be busy tomorrow working on a site overhaul. While you are waiting for the great unveiling, or not, I thought to have some construction sounds and funny pictures for your enjoyment…
As it turns out, the great and almighty Youtube was a fail in that department.
However, I did find this gem!
This is a “Superb Lyrebird” imitating construction sound he picked up at the Adelade Zoo!
His voicing is uncanny, and I love how he laughs, as if under his breath! 😉
Pam, I read that the imitation of the other birds is a normal part of their mating ritual. I have to wonder how impressed the females in the wild would be with power tools? Guess this makes him the Tim the Tool Man of the outback?
I’m glad you enjoyed the video, Laurie! As for the new look, it is mostly done. I have a friend who is going to help with the disappearing font colors (too light) and some HTML coding. I also want a couple of extra photographs for the header so it can work as a slide show.

He’s a veritable “Jungle-in-a-box”, isn’t he? LOVE the jigsaw, power screwdriver, hammering nails and handsaw, workmen whistling and doing cat-calls (swear I heard him say “Hey, how ya doin’?” and other little under-the-breath comments. The more often I listened to this, the more I recognised… AWESOME, thanks!: )
