Dinner With Friends
Butchered and put into the freezer for keeping Harold consumed his parts bit by bit over the year. He searched the shops for just the right seasonings to prepare each bite. Deliciously braised, roasted, or stewed he prepared them with care, then invited friends and neighbors over to enjoy his lovely culinary delights.
After each feast he’d sneak the bones out in the dark of the night to dispose of them in public bins. Tonight’s deposit; two femurs.
Don’t you find it odd he did this? Safe to bet, it kept the neighboring dogs from tipping them out to take home.

Wouldn’t want to have dinner with him!
He has been known to cook with beef or chicken too.
Hmm… Wonder if dinner was served with fava beans and a nice Chianti!
Nix on the Favas. Nobody can cook them properly and if they say they can they are telling a fib. 😉
You’ve got to use baby ones, shell AND peel the individual beans and then steam them gently. No hard, leathery, bitter skins, just tender green yumminess.
Are these fresh or dried? I used dried and ended up with half mush and half crunchy. YECH!
Fresh. They’re really easy to grow. Stick the dried ones in the ground about half an inch deep, water, and walk away. They are one of the first fresh bean crops of the year and YUMMY. Jamie Oliver is a huge fan and is king of the best recipes. In the UK, they’re called broad beans, and you can find heaps of lovely recipes here:

I just happen to have some red (I grew them myself and dried them) and some tan ones from the store! Thanks, Kate!
Dear Lynda,
The secret’s in the sauce. 😉 Grisly.
Shalom,
Rochelle
You have quoted one of my favorite stories! Grisly? I confess.
Ugh.
Sorry, Tom. 😦
Question is, who’s femurs and where did they come from? MwaHaHaHaHaaa!: )
Who can say? Anyone missing from your end?
Nope! Nothing missing from my end(s) either, lol; )
