Yes, it is that time of year again, when Bob and I celebrate our anniversary. Thirty-five years! We are living a 21st. century anachronistic life and proud of it!
The celebration will be low-key and done in home, but some of our favorites will show up on the dinner table:
- Fresh garden salad
- Roasted asparagus
- Whipped potatoes with chives and butter
- Lamb chops rubbed with fresh minced rosemary, garlic, lemon zest, and olive oil; aka – Greek style. (We call these lamb pops 😉 )
Dessert? Chocolate Cake with 7 minute frosting. Easy and good!
Pictures?
Not yet! 😀
What a veritable feast! Congrats but do give us pics 😀
Annie, I plan to if I can get everything made nicely, not necessarily professional looking, but looking edible… I have days like that in the kitchen, LOL! The hardest part will be the cake 😀
Congratulations and many more to come!
Thank you, Margaret!
Those lamb chops! Celebratory indeed. Happy Wedding Anniversary!
Yes! I (we) love them but won’t pay for them on a menu out. Too costly! Thankfully, they are half price if you do it yourself, and so easy to make. Thank you, Joan!
Hi Lynda, good to hear from you!
Dinner sounds delicious; enjoy and Happy Anniversary: )
Thank you, Deb and it was!
Sounds delicious! Just as well (for you!) that I’m too far away to gatecrash this romantic event…
Simone, you would have been disappointed at all the changes I had to make at the last moment. But it certainly was delicious in spite of it. 🙂
Well done both of you. Sounds like a good feast.
Thank you, Tom!
A milestone to be proud of. The dinner sounds wonderful, and I look forward to the photos!
Thank you, Kate! Unfortunately, because Bob was unavoidably detained, by the time he got home I had greatly abbreviated the menu and dinner was snarfed before photos could even be remembered… Sorry. (read note to Little Sundog for details)
Ah well… Life throws these curveballs sometimes. The idea sounded delicious!
It was delicious! 🙂
How wonderful! The menu sounds delicious, and it’s great that you have such an auspicious occasion for it. Thirty five years is a long time — may there be many more! I did laugh at your reference to an anachronistic life style. I know exactly what you mean, and I know how wodnerful it can be. Enjoy!
Thank you, Linda! The menu got changed up a lot that night, read my note to Littlesundog… but it was wonderful nonetheless!
How wonderful!! You always prepare the loveliest meals… this one sounds exceptional!! Congratulations to both of you!
Lori, unfortunately, Bob arrived late due to a long wait at the optometrists office (long story). So, the menu was abbreviated and switched up: Roasted asparagus, brown rice (already made and in freezer), Lamb chops as described, and fresh strawberry shortcake for desert. ALL delicious of course. Oh yes, and on a whim I squeezed fresh lemon juice (remember the lemon zest?) onto the asparagus when it came out of the broiler. Very good and it used up the lemon! 🙂
I’m salivating!! Sounds dEElicious!! 😀
It was! 🙂
Now I KNOW that I left you a comment (’cause WP Reader said it was waiting moderation) but you might not have recognised my new green leaf? Hope your dinner was swell, Lol!
Yes you did. And as you can see you were ignored in very good company… I am an equal opportunity ignorer this post. 😉
Hey, I just assumed that you’ve been very busy and glad that you responded at all and whenever; ) LOL
Such a lovely post, Lynda!
Happy Anniversary! The dinner sounds lovely, and I know you’ll enjoy every bite 🙂
Very happy for you.
Thank you, Laurie, it was delicious, even if the menu was changed and abbreviated a bit. See my comments to Littlesundog. 😉
Happy anniversary!
Thank you, Patti!
