OK, OK, it is out of the bag.
I am a Nerd.
In my school days to be called a Nerd was an insult. Nobody wanted to be a Nerd. However as an adult I find science fascinating!
So here for your viewing pleasure, or not, I offer you:
The Worlds Smallest Movie
and its sequel…
The making of The Worlds Smallest Movie
I love the line where the scientist says:
“If I can get 1,000 kids to enjoy science rather than go into law school I’d be super happy.”
If you do not find these films fascinating, well then relax, because:
You can rest assured that
you are not a Nerd!

UPDATE: I don’t usually care for the Urban Dictionary’s definitions. That said, IMHO they really got to the essence of what it means to be a “Nerd.” (Click the word to be magically transported, and then scroll down to the definitions.) 😉

Charmingly nerdy!
Glad you liked it, Annie!
The very best thing of all was watching the expression on the face of the fellow who was describing the sound that the atoms make as they’re being moved around. You can tell that he’s a serious nerd.
Wonderful diversion – but now I really do have to go to work!
Linda, glad you liked it, and I hope you got your work done! What is it about guys and making sounds? They really get into it. And you know, that when we do it we get the look, and/or a comment about it…
“Wow! You did that just like a guy!”
Someone actually told me that.
😛
Wow, just amazing!!
What will they think of next, Diana? I haven;t a clue, but we’ll be watching for it! 🙂
The world and everything in it is wondrously made!
It is!
Nerd is good. All sensible people aspire to be a nerd. Those who can’t make it have to take up sport to pass the time when they could have been thinking. (I played a lot of sport.)
HELLO!!! Tom, you must have done some thinking, you had to, in order to became a teacher. 😉
But on the negative side I have played a lot of golf.
I have never understood the need to play flog, and yet so many find it entertaining. I am the odd one out then, not you. 😉
I don’t think I qualify as a nerd… a tree hugger maybe!
LOL, Lori, I got that from your visit.
The world may need more nerds, however, it could not continue on without the tree huggers to keep it safe from “The Minds of Monsanto.”
I’m glad to know which side you are on! 😀
Today, it is an asset to be a nerd. They are now the richest in the world and dominate anything high tech. Being cool like the ones we see on t.v. only last in school. In the real world, the nerds have all the tools for success. You are blessed!
So true, education is the key to success, Island Traveler!
I do feel blessed, thank you! However, I am not even close to being rich. Not monetarily at any rate! 😉
I’m totally a nerd.
YAY! 😀
