Debts, Illness, Drought (not a drop all summer), Wildfires and smoke, More debt, the horrid election shenanigans. . .
I could whine on, but why?
Would it not be better to count blessings instead?
Better health, The rain (and the roof is patched), sold the Mountain Farmlet (and the major, obscene, huge amount of debt is gone) and for good or ill the election is over!
For all these gifts we are grateful.
Sending blessings for 2017
and
wishing a Happy New Year to all!

Note: I’ve thought to post for some time now, but couldn’t find the heart to do it. It all felt so negative. This year is starting on a happier and more vibrant note. See you soon with something fun!
Glad to see something from you. Last year wasn’t all too great here but things are going to be different starting tomorrow. Have a Great New Year!!
I will thank you, and you as well, Margaret!
It doesn’t come across as negative at all.. Today is the perfect day to post this, however! May 2017 be extra kind to you. you’ve earned it!
Thank you, Lisa! 2017 seems to promise better times for us. Happy New Year!
Yes, and both of you are certainly due some better days.
We all need a warm, cushy place.
Yes, Lillian, and warm slippers with a fat fleece robe go over everything! 😀
I am sorry that the Mountain Farmlet had to go but I am glad that it has successfully gone and taken a load off your backs. Good wishes for 2107.
Thank you, Tom. We held out for so long and wanted to know that things would get better. However, after a month of little sleep and big worry on Bob’s part (bills-bills-bills!!!) I called our realtor (a joint decision) and he had the place sold in about a month! Weirdly, after a year of worrying he was still dreaming of debt and not sleeping well. He’s on the mend now and in much better humor. It is good to have my happy husband back! ❤
I’ve not had a good year either. Wishing you a better year to come.
I wish the same for you, Anita. Sending a prayer of many blessings for you in this new year.
I’m glad your list of blessings seems more outstanding than the negatives. Long may it continue. I reckon that Noodle is one of the better things, too! Happy New Year to you all.
Thank you, Kate, it is! And yes, that little Noodle-dog is a tonic for Bob! ❤
Wishing a Happy, HAPPY New Year to both of you and Critters too!: )
I wish the same for you, Deb! And stay warm this winter… it really is COLD where you are this year.
LOL, thanks Lynda! I will say that, while we’ve definitely had an early start to the snowfall this year, the temps are not that abnormal. We’re actually above freezing for a few days with 50% chance of rain and then back to normal – which is a high/low of -2°C(29F) & -11°C(11F). Not so bad really and it’s just SO beautiful with snow on the ground already. I’m truly happy that my plants have cover this soon in the year: )
Happy New Year I hope 2017 is a great year for you 🙂
Thank you, Neil, it is looking quite promising! And thank you for visiting me here. 🙂
PS: Liked your first try at videoblogging. Can’t wait for your next one with more of the nature sounds in the background. The water was very soothing!
Will do more vlogs I think It was fun 🙂
Oh, Lynda, I understand! I feel such dread when I think of the political situation in this country.
Having said that, I feel confident that there is good in the world.
So glad that mountain of debt is gone!
That right there allows for big breaths and optimism.
Best wishes for a happy, healthy, and wetter 2017 to you and to Bob.
Laurie, thank you for your kind words. Wiping out that debt is going to make it easier for us now! 🙂
I must share with you that I thought the last two elections were contentious and over the top, but this past year has become simply militant. And of all the choices we had we ended up with Hilary and Trump? That left us with no choice and for me a feeling of putting on a blindfold and sticking a pin in my ballot. As well, the emotional climate in our nation was fractious before the election and now has become absolutely unhinged. 😯
The election is over for good or ill and now’s the time for us all to hitch up our trousers, stop whining and get on with it. We have work to do and we need to sort our differences and do it together! ❤
you’re right Lynda. Put 2016 behind you, and look optimistically to the new year.
Yes! I just feels so much easier now, Claire. I hope all goes well in 2017 for all of us. 🙂
You’ve had more than your share of trials and tribulations, but that list of blessings looks good to me. Not having to worry about the Farmlet is going to help in any number of ways — and thank goodness for better health.
As for the rest of it, I think Noodle’s got the answer: stay warm and cozy, shelter when necessary, and only fight when it’s really, really necessary. Otherwise, take life as it comes, and enjoy. I suspect it works for humans, too. Here’s to a wonderful 2017 for you and Bob. We’re survived thirteen and a half hours of the New Year, so the rest ought to be a piece of cake!
Everything looks better when you don’t owe a fortune and you aren’t scared about how you will pay for medicine and food. We wanted to keep the property, we really wanted to retire there, but in the end, we had consider the here and now. Wishing blessings for you and yours too, Linda!
Wishing you a very happy and prosperous 2017. Your list of ails seems to be reducing so here’s to the good start to the year continues.
Annie, thank you! It is and for the first time in far too long we are content, which is a good way to start the new year. 🙂
Noodle has the skinny on life! We could all learn a few things by observing our furkids! Ha ha! I get the feeling 2017 will be a great year for all of us!! Cheer and good wishes to you and Bob!
Thank you, Lori, and wish the the same for you and FD too!
If its negative stuff feel free to contact me. You know I’ve been there and got the tee-shirt. Still tough over here but I’m pushing on xx
Thank you, Gill!
Gill, I looked for your contact information on your blog and couldn’t find it. If you do not wish to publish your email publicly (I totally get that) then could you send it to me via my contact tab at the top of my blog? In the meantime, I wanted to share this with you, because we both love a pretty piece of antique French fabric!
