“When the weather is cold, and never goes above 32 degrees, we are stuck in the mudroom all day just to avoid freezing our whiskers off. We’re so bored.”
You are not seeing double. Kitty on the left is Pickle and on the right is Peanut. They are brothers from a litter who arrived all the way from Tuscaloosa riding in the grille of a pickup truck. That is a 2 hr 28 min or 169.3 mile trip. When the driver discovered them, he extracted them and then took them to our local vet’s office.
On entering, with Walker and Noodle in tow, I spied the assistant feeding them behind the counter and asked if they were available. They were.
“I’ll take them both!” I exclaimed. Bob cocked an eyebrow at me, but I held firm.
Peanut has since become Bob’s favorite and Pickle is mine. I do love a good Ginger cat and having two ginger cats is twice a nice.
Although, perhaps not so nice if you are a mousie or a vole.
Every time I see cute kitties, my ‘gotta have another cat’ juices start flowing. It’s not going to happen, for a variety of reasons, but my goodness: that’s a lovely pair you have there!
Linda, They are so much fun! Peanut is a love bug whose favorite activities are mewing like a kitten (his voice never changed) eating and napping. He will make an occasional foray into the gardens when the voles are running, and move quickly to catch up to you for a good petting. Pickle? He is as his name implies!
Hope you both good?
Gill, not sure if you meant the kitties or us, but we’re all good! And how are all of you? It’s been ages!
It has
I’ve lived a while lifetime since then!!

On it! ❤
Rats! Bob upgraded everything on my computer including a new email program. I don’t have anyone’s emails anymore. Please send it to me again. Thank you!
Your pickle reminds me of my Butterball; had him when I was in elementary school. He was so much fun the summer he was little, then he became a mouser and was too whatever to play with me! 😂
Kathy, that’s because he was the “BMOD”. He had a job to do! 😉
I think kittens are the most fun, that is, with the exception of “SPIKE”. He did have a cute kitty name, until he treed my bare leg one morning and slid down it. No nylons to work that day! 😦
(Big Mouser On Duty)
Ha ha! I loved the part about Bob cocking an eyebrow at you… I can just visualize it! It looks like Pickle and Peanut have found a good home – too bad the inclement weather keeps them “boxed” inside for a while. I bet they’d rather be roaming around outside!!
Lori, they do have that option, as we have a kitty/doggie door, but they do not choose it. Can’t say I blame them. 😀
Oh my word! A double dose of trouble and fun! They’re a gorgeous pair.
Kate, I do love my kitties! The only thing they do that I don’t like is use my gardens as a kitty box. Grrr… they have a whole acre here and three acres more out back in the neighbor’s paddock. But I guess worked soil is better than the clay we have everywhere else. They get chased with a rake when I see them. 😉
Very cute indeed.
Tom, in a word: irresistible. I just couldn’t pass up twin kitties. 😉
What a lovely story! Lucky everyone 😀
Annie, It was a fateful day. I still marvel on how the little kittens got into the grille and didn’t fall out for all those miles. When they were delivered to the the vet’s office they weren’t even ready for solid food yet!
Looks like double trouble in that box!😁
Deb, Peanut is, I think, delayed. BUT, Pickle makes up for the “trouble” deficit of his brother. OH-YEAH!
Gotta love them. ❤
