The weather is freezing, overcast and dreary today. The rain comes down freezing instantly to everything it touches… I come back in and boot up my Pandora for a listen. I type in “Loreena McKennitt.” My house is warm and her lovely voice brightens my mood. I set to work as a steady stream of Celtic voice and melody speaks to my heart… keeps me company…

P.S. As I sit to write this to you I see intermittent fat snowflakes beginning to fall, and it is still raining. How is this possible? I have no clue.

Dear Lynda, I want you know that I read all your posts, usually with my morning tea before work and am touched by each one. Somehow, either you’ve sent me off in another direction (as to Pandora just now, which I discover is not available outside of the U.S.) or I simply don’t have the brain power to comment. I am so far behind now I won’t try to catch up, but I want to send you my condolences for the loss of your dear Momma Roo and the difficult decisions you’ve had to make in the aftermath. I admire your understanding of the deals we need to make with nature.
Here, the wind is blowing bitingly wet snow around and it’s a good day to stay in my pajamas. As for Loreena – I’ve just put a CD in. Thank you 🙂
Thank you Cindy. This cold winter has found me in a strange place. I am so ready for it all to be done and spring to get here. I have been devising little vignettes about the house to cheer myself up and to brighten the corners up a bit. I have put out little lamps in the darkest corners and arranged favorite things around them to be highlighted. It really helps! That might be another post this week??? As for the PJ’s, well, been there doing that my own self today. It is just utterly too gloomy outside. I have to admit, even though I don’t particularly like snow, I can see the benefits of it in the natural world. It covers all the bleakness, brightens and dresses up the outside world. I eventually will get used to real seasons, but for the time being… it gets to me a bit after being spoiled all my life in a temperate climate. 😀
