A Saturday excursion leads to one good catch… and another!

Went out for the day and captured…

These old WWII birds flying in formation.

Caught while hurtling down the freeway at 70 mph.  and “NO!”  I was not behind the wheel!  That is my friend Rich’s trick! 😉

Then on the way home I saw this fellow on the side of the highway!

First armadillo I have ever seen outside of the zoo, or a gawd-awful ladies purse a girlfriend in HS owned,  that wasn’t   f-l-a-t.

A good day’s work I call it, and a fun day!

Great pics. Great comment regarding pics at 70mph :D. I saw my first ever armadillo in FL a couple of years ago. I was out walking and there he was having his breakfast. When I tried to get his pic. he began walking away, I followed, he waddled faster, all I got was a fuzzy armadillo pic.

I got lucky, I saw him on the side of the road and mentioned it to Bob, who turned around so I could get the picture WITHOUT having to be asked, and that gave me time to turn on the camera and set the zoom to max! Then when I went to shoot it focused and took several shots without even having to get out of the car… The other plus was that there was no one behind us! 😉 This was the best out of 7 takes.

BTW, I never knew they had a furry underbelly until I enlarged this picture! Did you?

Thanks for your post. It’s so funny that you’re in Alabama. Just the other day I was bemoaning the fact that everyone in the south and in CA has some warmth and they are all outside having bbqs and working their garden. We’ll be under snow for another month and a nasty muddy break up to follow with some snow through April. Oh, well, time to plan for summer and get the kids school finished.

Thanks for visiting Anna! We got our share of snow this year… It has snowed 4 times this winter. Last months storm brought us nearly eight inches… I was gonna die! We are so not used to the snow. I have other friends in Canada and they, like you, are dreaming of warmth and sunshine. 🙂

So how about that? Go on; say something!
