I have been so busy fixing, painting, sewing, repairing and more to be ready for October and the excitement of friends coming to visit the Farmlet, that I am afraid that I haven’t posted anything for over a week! Sorry!
However, today I had to give it a rest. Seems I have OD’d myself on paint fumes. Gonna have to back off and concentrate on other tasks while my lungs get better.
Phooey!
Well, it’s not like there aren’t other things to work on. It’s just that the painting makes it L@@K like you did something…
And yes, that post is getting written and will go up soon.
I promise!
I love the Indian head!
They used to always have these at the end of the day’s TV transmissions when the station would actually sign off, or when there were technical problems during live broadcasting. I have been trying to remember when they stopped using them. Hmmm… when did TV become a 24/7 commodity? I really don’t recall! 🙂
Lynda, I don’t know what you’re painting but can you use no VOC or low VOC paint? We will begin painting the inside of the house this week and have purchased Behr low VOC paint – almost no odor at all. Give your lungs plenty of time to heal – no amount of decorating is worth ruining your health – but of course you already know that 😀
Thanks Lindy, the paints we purchased are low VOC. I am just very chemically sensitive. When we painted our bedroom and master bath we moved the bed into the dining room for a month! I think the problem started over the weekend when I used Kilz to prime the closet (you would just have to have seen it)… Anyway, then I cleaned the bathroom, and later I painted one wall in the BR. By the time I finished cutting in that wall and rolling it, I couldn’t breathe very well and my chest was hurting really BAD! I took some decongestant and expectorant and drank three HUGE glasses of water. Of course then last night I couldn’t sleep either!!! (Jacked up on decongestants and running to the bathroom to purge the water! LOL!) I am going to stay out of the tight spaces and let Bob finish in there. I will continue NEXT WEEK with the base boards and doors, as the semi-gloss paint seemed not to bother me at all.
Woohoo! I’m so excited for you, don’t forget to take breaks though or you will burn yourself out and hate the job! Who are your guests in October? I would love to have a guest room for over night guests, you are very lucky 🙂
You are so sweet! The visitors are our good friends from our old church in California! We can’t wait to see them. We are going to Talladega to see the races there. (But secretly, I’m more excited about the visiting than the race!!!) LOL! Never had overnight guests before, probably won’t have them again. This is very special, but the room will be there if we should need it! 😀
