Uh-oh.

Needing a haircut the Lady of the Farmlet thought,

“I cut Bob’s hair for him with the clippers… I’ll just put the biggest comb on and do it myself!”  It only took one swipe of the clippers to realize my mistake, but it was already too late.

I look in the mirror and try to imagine myself as one of those artsy looking old fems in dangly earrings and folksy clothing.  Nope, the vision bubble pops and it is still me with awful hair staring back.  Is it possible to be too frugal?  Yes.  It truly is.

I told Bob I won’t be going out in public.  His response?

“You can wear a hat.”

Note to self:

NEXT TIME GO TO THE NEAREST CLIP JOINT AND PAY $10.00.  IT COULDN’T POSSIBLY LOOK ANY WORSE.

!!!  😐  !!!

UPDATE

So many of you wanted pictures… My sister called almost as soon as I hit the publish button!!!  So I went out looking for a picture of an artsy looking ‘old lady’ with dangly earrings, whose hair looked roughly like mine, and I found her!

So, wadda’ya think?  Should I dye my hair orange and get a tattoo?

Thanks for the giggle! I needed a few on this cold and rainy morning. I can only imagine what I would look like if I took scissors to my head. I tremble at the thought.

      You’re welcome.
Honestly, sometimes I scare myself, but I come by it natural. If memory serves I think I was only four the first time I did this to myself. 😉

Oh no, I would never take scissors to my own hair. I’ve messed up hubby’s once (he had to pay to get it fixed) and that was my cue to never try my hand at it again. (His hair really did look that bad.) I’m pretty frugal, but I do like to leave the house every once in a while… 😉

LOL! Live and learn, huh? Well, the hat’s on cause I’m off to the post office. I have to get an order out, and there’s no way out of it, if I want business to run smoothly.

LYNDA! What were you thinking?. You poor darling. I suppose being winter and all you can get away with the hat for quite a while – maybe you can go to the hairdressers and get the edges tidied up and then it will at least look like you did it on purpose! .. does your hair grow fast? It will grow fast .. Lets think positive, I notice that there was not a Picture attached to this post! c

Were my dad here to speak up, he would say, “You weren’t thinking.” Thankfully, my hair does grow pretty fast so in about a month I will be able to go in and let them tidy it up… LOL, no picture? Well of course there is not a picture, after all, there is barely any hair left. 😛

Since I was a wee thing it has been the hard way. I guess that’s just how some of us learn, and most of the time we don’t forget. Thanks Patti. 🙂

You are very brave. I’ve learned to NEVER take sizzors to anyones hair, especially my own. I think it is wonderful that you can cut Bob’s hair. The only skill I have with sizzors involves running 😉

    • pixilated2 says:

Hey Ginger!!! I have been very worried about you and I’m glad to hear from you. 🙂 At the moment it would seem that ‘running’ is the only skill I have with scissors as well. 😐

Don’t worry it does grow back with a quick amount of time. I kinda did that to Alex 2 years ago and he freaked out the day before he was to go to his last CAP mission ( did not know then he was planning on quitting 6 months later). It was so bad that he had to go to the barbers during school to fix my mistake when he turned his head. Now he hates short hair-lol.

Yeah I know… it just feels forever! LOL! Ask Alison about the haircut I gave her when she was in first grade. She HATED me for a long time after that, but my Mom made me do it because she slept with bubblegum…!

Hey, you could pay someone to cut your hair and still have that happen! I had to go to someone else while my regular gal was on maternity leave. The substitute cut such a huge chunk out of one side, that several cuts later it’s still growing in.

    • pixilated2 says:

Hahaha, you know, you are right! I took my mother-in-law in for a haircut years ago, and decided “Well, as long as I am here…” BIG MISTAKE. If you drew a line, from ear to ear, across the back of my head, well that part down was just bald. 😐

So how about that? Go on; say something!
